Allen Yard, PLS, a native of Waterford, Pennsylvania, holds a B.S. degree in Mathematics and Education from Grove City College. Upon college graduation, Allen accepted a position as a survey crew rodman for Terry Land Measurement, in Fairfax, Virginia. During his employment there, he progressed from rodman to party chief as he gained knowledge and honed his skills in topographic, boundary, and construction surveying and drafting. In 1993, Allen returned to Pennsylvania and, in 2005, obtained his Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
In 2014, with over 19 years of surveying experience, including boundary, subdivisions, construction layout, as-builts, A.L.T.A. surveys, gas well plats, elevation certificates, topographic surveys, and stormwater management design, Allen opened his own business, A.R.E.A. Surveying in Waterford, Pennsylvania. His goal is to meet each client’s needs by providing timely, efficient, professional service.
Land surveying is a practice and an art. With a passion for surveying and mathematics, Allen continues to learn and keep up with the developments in the surveying profession. He is an active member of the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors (PSLS, www.psls.org) and the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS).
